I am pleased to recommend Claire DeCoster and her River's Edge Playback Company as consultants to any business or professional organization seeking to improve its teamwork, morale, or productivity.
As a semi-retired professional who has done a number of consultations to organizations over the years, what has impressed me about the work of River's Edge is its ability to handle all sorts of people and situations with uncanny artistry. Additionally, Playback is an engaging, original form that will prove different and exciting for your employees. They won't forget it!

Annual Meeting

As therapists, we spend most of our working hours listening to others. You gave us an opportunity to be heard and understood. It was poignant, life-giving, and it felt wonderful to laugh. You blessed our evening with your presence. Thank you!
Here's what some of the meeting attendees said:
  • "It was much better than listening to a speech (our usual thing after our annual meeting and dinner)."
  • 'I was just getting into it and was disappointed it was over. I had a story I wished I'd have shared."

  • The project was a two-day staff training event at Camp Uni-Star that addressed various camp scenarios and situations young adult staff members might experience in their work. The River's Edge task was to lead the staff in working through those situations, using Playback Theatre techniques.
It was clear that the participants quickly picked up the theory and were able to use the theater techniques. Based on comments at the end of the workshop, I consider it a real success!

Just a quick note to say thank you for your performance Thursday night. It was a great forum for students to connect what's running through their heads with what's running through their hearts.
Thank you for your energy and your efforts. What a great contribution to learning!

The task we gave REPT was to bring to life a dramatic presentation of the breakdown of the relationship between an architect, a client, and a building contractor.
You pulled it off beautifully with your unique brand of theater. The audience was totally captivated and pulled into the story beyond our expectations.

Your interactive workshop for 20 members of the Twin Cities Refugee Support Network allowed them to explore how to deal with the secondary traumatization they experience when working with those who've suffered the violence and terror of war.
The workshop was expertly facilitated, and the performers exhibited a high degree of sensitivity, particularly in response to the non-American born participants.
River's Edge is an important addition to the therapeutic community. You've established yourselves as a positive agent of healing and restoration.
