River's Edge Playback Performer Biographies

Carolyn Campfield I am a practitioner of Voice Movement Therapy, and the owner of St. Paul Expressive Arts Center. I have performed in a variety of venues in the Twin Cities including the Minnesota Opera and the Voices of Vienna Operetta Company. I received my Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, and my Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Minnesota. I wish to thank John for his boundless encouragement and love.

Claire DeCosterFor people who know me, River's Edge is a dream a long time in the making. Originally a professional actress and dancer, I was more and more drawn to issue-oriented, educational theatre and psychodrama. Then I discovered Playback. For me, Playback is a bridge between theatre and healing arts, aesthetics and social interaction. It rides that fine line all the time. I've worked with many theatres in Minneapolis and Chicago and hold an MFA in Acting, BFA in Dance, and an M.Ed. in ECFE Parent Education.  I work at Family & Children's Service for The Family Project, a family centered community organizing model.

Rochelle James After experimenting with percussive instruments for 15+ years, and studying various healing methods for 10+ years, I subliminally began searching for a way to combine music and healing using performance art. This subliminal search guided me to Playback Theatre. For me, Playback provides a powerful venue for the synergy of music and healing to blend with the essence of a real life experience and return to the teller and audience as a gift of acceptance, acknowledgement, healing and love.
